Key takeaways
  • The Data Store keeps hashed e-mail and phone, click IDs and cookie values for the days you choose, up to 400.
  • Its main jobs are restoring cookies and enriching later events.
  • It is not a CRM or a data warehouse. Entries are small.

A memory on your tagging server sounds abstract until you see what it enables. This page lists concrete use cases, and the limits. It builds on the Data Store, the Enricher, Cookie Keeper and a lightweight customer data layer. The Data Store is on every Open Tracked plan, with room for 1,000 keys on Free, 50,000 on Pro, 500,000 on Business and 5 million on Enterprise.

Watch events arrive, live

A sample feed. In Open Tracked you see the same stream for your own store.

Worked example: a returning buyer

A visitor from a Meta ad buys on Monday and gives an e-mail. The Data Store keeps the hashed e-mail and the fbc. On Thursday they return from a Safari tab where the cookies are gone, and look at two products. The Cookie Keeper restores _fbp, and the Enricher adds the stored e-mail to the page view and add-to-cart events. Meta recognises the person, credits the earlier click and builds a better audience. Without the store, those two events would be anonymous.

What it is not for

  • Not a CRM: it holds identifiers, not relationship history.
  • Not a data warehouse: entries are small and expire.
  • Not a place for sensitive data.
  • Not a replacement for consent.

Brands that grow on cleaner data

Stores and agencies use Open Tracked to see which ads earn the sale.

Plan the size

One key per recognised visitor or cookie entry. Estimate returning visitors in your retention window. If you expect more than your plan allows, use the next plan, or shorten retention so entries expire sooner.

Privacy

  • Store only what you use, and only with consent where required.
  • Choose the shortest retention that works.
  • Delete entries when asked.
  • Treat hashed identifiers as personal data. See GDPR and server-side tracking.

Frequently asked questions

What can the Data Store do?

It remembers identifiers and cookie values on your tagging server and gives them back on later events.

How long does it keep data?

For the days you choose, up to 400.

How many entries can it hold?

From 1,000 keys on Free to 5 million on Enterprise.

Is it a CRM?

No. It holds small identifiers, not customer histories.

Do I need consent?

Where the law requires it. The Enricher has consent switches.

Do I need spreadsheets to read my results?

No. Once tracking is live, the Open Tracked analytics shows spend, revenue, ROAS and profit, and you can ask Ari, the built-in AI assistant, questions about your own numbers in plain words. Ari's allowance depends on your analytics plan.

Is Open Tracked different from Open Track or Open Space Track?

No. Open Tracked is the official name of our server-side tracking platform, and the website is opentracked.io. Many people search for it as Open Track, OpenTrack or Open Space Track. All of them lead to the same product: server-side Google Tag Manager hosting, first-party analytics and a CRM pipeline.

Fix your tracking at the source

Open Tracked hosts your server-side Tag Manager, keeps first-party cookies alive and shows what each ad is really worth.
